A weekly series of 1-hour audio teleconferences explaining the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative in greater detail was held in the weeks leading up to the application deadline. These sessions focused on eligibility, requirements, grant application requirements and the application review process. Callers had the opportunity to talk with and pose questions to the Federal Safe Schools/Healthy Students staff from the three partnering agencies (U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, and Justice).
